| 1963 ROLLS ROYCE SILVER CLOUD III
An outstanding example of the last of the classic, elegant, traditionally built, seperate chassis Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III's, a model which has appreciated significantly in demand and value over recent years. Equipped with the 6.25 litre V8 motor, automatic transmission and power steering as standard, they are both enjoyable and easy to drive in modern traffic conditions. This car is particularly special having covered only 62,000 miles from new in the hands of just five owners, two of which kept the car for a combined period of 40 years. It has a FULL ROLLS ROYCE MAIN DEALER SERVICE HISTORY- Arnett's of Bournemouth and Broughton's of Cheltenham, rare indeed! The history file is especially large and comprehensive, even including the original RR parchment scroll guarantee and complete sales wallet with all booklets and tags. A run of 33 expired MOT certificates document the annual mileages from 27,530 in 1970 to 60,864 in November 2009 at the last MOT. Finished in its original colour scheme of Georgian Silver over Black Pearl, the light grey leather upholstery is the original and in superb condition. The headlining, carpets and woodwork have all been refurbished to the highest standard. It was registered 4444 LJ in 1965 by the second owner who as Chief Commandant of Dorset Special Constabulary, was advised to obtain a similarly distinctive number plate to that of the Chief Constable of Dorset whose car wore 4444 EL, in order "to be given special priority in heavy traffic"!! That distinctive number plate remains with the car on retention certificate to be assigned to the new owner at sale and the Commandant's police badge is still in place on the badge-bar. The car is also registered in the Republic of Ireland.
We sold this car in 2006 to its current Eire-based celebrity owner who only covered some 500 miles in it and now with advancing years has decided to sell it so that it can be enjoyed through more frequent use by a new owner. Currently Mot'd to November 2010, the car has been driven some 1,500 miles in recent weeks and performs faultlessly. With prices of some SCIII's now reaching six figures, this example represents an excellent investment opportunity.
